Visiting Card

A card that consists of a name, logo and address of a person. It is also called calling card. Generally, it is used for business and formal social visit. 

Sizes– 3.5’’ x 2.25’’

           3.25’’ x 2.25’’

           3.25’’ x 2.0’’

Bleed area– 0.125’’

Crop marks– 0.0625’’(half of bleeding area)

Margin– 0.125’’

Letter Head

It consists of a name, logo and address. They are used in companies etc. Doctors also use it for writing prescription.

Size– 8.5’’ x 11’’

Bleed area– 0.125’’

Crop marks– 0.125’’

CD Label

It is a compact disc which contains data. It is used to store, play and record audio and video in digital form. It consists of logo, address of the company. It is invented by James Russel. First compact disc was performed by Claudio Arrau. The first cd player CDP-101 was released in 1982.

 Sizes–  Outer circle size – 4.7’’

             Inner circle size – 1.675’’

CD Cover

A cover is to surround a CD. It is the most important thing to sell your CD. A stylish cover to save your cd. It consists of the address, and logo of a company.

Size– 5.25’’ x 5.25’’

Bleed area– 0.125’’

Crop marks– 0.0625’’

Margin– 0.5’’

Envelope

It is to wrap something completely. We find it many places such as companies, post offices etc. It was discovered by Jacques de Morgan in 1901 and Roland de mecquenem in 1907. It was developed in China. It consists of logo, address of company. 

Size– 9’’ x 4’’

Bleed area– 0.125’’

Crop marks– 0.0625’’

Margin– 0.5’’

Poster

It is a printed paper which is designed to attach on a wall. First poster was created by Toulouse-Lautrec in 1891. It consists of both text and images, logo, punchline, offers, address etc. They are find at many places such as, cinema halls, metro stations etc.

Crop marks– 0.125’’

Margin– 0.5’’

Flyer

It is a type of paper advertisement which is used for public distribution. We see them in colleges, institutes and many places. They consist of brief detail and they are small part of brochure.

Size– Letter size (8.5 x 11.0 in)

Press Advertisement

It is a form of display advertisement which consists the printing of newspapers, magazines, journal etc.

Size– 8’’ x 11’’

Calendar

It is an arrangement of establishing days for organizational, social, advertising and religious purposes. First gredorian calendar was introduced in 1582 and julian calendar, implemented by Julius Caesar.

Margin– 0.5’’ and extra 0.75’’ for spiral

Packaging

It is to wrap the items to make them safe and clean. In ancient time it was used for natural materials. Now it is used to wrap the papers and other materials.

Size– 4’’ x 6’’,2’’x 6’’(folds)

Margin– 0.5’’

File Folder

A folder that holds papers for association for protection. They are used to keep documents. They are used in offices, colleges, schools, institutes etc. it is developed by Meisburger. It consists of logo and address of the company.

Size– 9.5’’ x 8’’

Crop marks– 0.0625’’

Margin– 0.5’’

Pocket– 4’’

Brochure

It is a document which can be folded in to templet, pamphlet or leaflet. The word brochure comes from the French word brocher. It can be distributed to put inside the newspaper. It usually consists of whole information about organization, images, logo etc. It is used in institutes, colleges, restaurants and many other places for the purpose of promotion.

Size– 8.5’’ x 11’’

Crop marks– 0.0625’’

Margin– 0.5’’

Sizes of Bleed, Crop Marks, and Margin are varied design to design. Smaller designs need less size while bigger designs need more.
