SUMMARY:Mega Design Competition 2025 at ADMEC Multimedia Institute
DESCRIPTION:ADMEC Multimedia Institute successfully organized the Mega Design Competition 2025 which was a two days long design competition. It started on the 29th and ran until the 30th of December. \nWe conducted this mega contest to test different skills of our students from design approach\, rapid visualization\, adaptability\, teamwork\, communication\, to presentation skills. It is indeed one of our unique design events that has multiple rounds\, points-based selection and elimination.  \nA total of 31 students participated in this competition with great enthusiasm from all of our creative courses. We included students from Graphic Design\, UI/UX\, Animation\, Video\, and Multimedia programs. \nNow we have a detailed day-wise breakdown of the entire contest. \nThe Creative Mega Design Competition 2025 Begins \nDay 1 (29th December)\nThe competition started at sharp 9:00 AM with lots of excitement and curiosity on the faces of students. There were two rounds in 1st day and one of them was an elimination round with 50% students eliminated from the competition. \nWe informed students that the competition would progress through elimination rounds and guided them to design smart\, think fast\, and manage time effectively.  \nRound 1: Rapid Visual Thinking\n\nDuration: 45 Minutes\nType: Individual Round\n\nWe gave one abstract word or emotion to students and asked them to visually express it through any format\, like: \n\nHand sketch\nDigital illustration\nMinimal poster\n\nRules of the round:\n\nUse only 2 colors at max\nDon’t add any text\nUse any medium like sketch\, painting\, or digital layout\n\nRavi Sir & Promila Mam explaining the design topic to students on Day 1\nThis round was like a warm-up round and tested the quick visualization skills of students. We saw many students perform it brilliantly and almost all of them tried their best to qualify for this first round. Almost all students presented their visual clarity and unique imagination.  \nRound 2: Design Under Constraints\n\nDuration: 90 Minutes\nType: Individual Round\n\nNow the second round started and brought a practical design brief for all students. We gave a design theme to students with two constraints. There were some random constraints placed inside folded chits in a big bowl. We asked each student to pick any two constraints from that bowl and design according to them. \nThis part made the contest a little challenging for all. \nRecommended output designs included:\n\nPoster\nUI screen\nSocial media reel and ads\n\nBoth rounds had their points that we calculated for every student to prepare the list of top-qualified students from Round 1 and Round 2. Out of 31 students we selected 17 students and 14 students were eliminated. Points of eliminated students were carried forward to selected students. \nList of Qualified Students of Day 1\nAfter careful observation and evaluation the following students moved ahead in the competition. Here’s the list: \n\n\n\nS.no\nQualified Student\nPoints Scored\n\n\n1\nMayank\n44/50\n\n\n2\nPreeti\n42/50\n\n\n3\nRitesh\n40/50\n\n\n4\nMankirat\n38/50\n\n\n5\nMani\n36/50\n\n\n6\nAnjali\n35/50\n\n\n7\nAbhishek\n29/50\n\n\n8\nZahid\n28/50\n\n\n9\nDhiraj\n28/50\n\n\n10\nAnkur\n27/50\n\n\n11\nAkash\n25/50\n\n\n12\nRahul Baluni\n25/50\n\n\n13\nAarti\n23/50\n\n\n14\nVarun\n23/50\n\n\n15\nRiya\n22/50\n\n\n16\nSateesh\n22/50\n\n\n17\nMohan\n21/50\n\n\n\nAll the qualified students showed satisfactory performance\, strong concepts\, and time management in the first two rounds on Day 1st of our Mega Design Competition 2025. \nDay 2 – Final Stages (30th December)\nThe 2nd day of the competition covered up the most exciting phase with two unique rounds and elimination among the 17 selected students. \nRound 3: Collaborative Design Sprint\n\nDuration: 2–2.5 Hours\nType: Team Round\n\nWe divided the qualified students into mixed teams of three students. In way we tried our best to maintain a cross-disciplinary collaboration in each team. \nWe follow this formula:  \n1 Graphic student + 1 UI/UX student + 1 Animation and Video student = a collaborative team \nWhat was the main task?\nSelected students had to create a complete brand identity campaign for a youth-focused app or product. \nRecommended Outputs (Any 2):\n\nBrand logo + color palette\nUser interface of the brand’s app landing screen \n10-second motion graphics/storyboard\nInstagram post or reel cover design\n\nOne of the Teams working in Round 3 on Day 2\nThe Twist\nThe twist entered the middle of round 3rd and surprised the students with the part called “client changes”. It was introduced to students to give them an idea of how a client can change the designs midway and what they need to do to handle this. This change forced the teams to adjust quickly. We did it to test the ability to work under real agency pressure\, the flexibility\, and teamwork skills of our students. \nWe selected the top 6 students based on their performance from this round 3rd. \nThese students were: \n\nPreeti Bandhari\nDhiraj Kumar\nMani Kumar\nDeepak Tiwari\nRitesh Gupta\nSayyid Zahid Ahmed\n\nTop 6 Finalist of Mega Design Competition\nRound 4: Design Pitch\nThis was the final round and the final test of the selected students. Now in this design pitch round students had to perform the following tasks: \n\nSelect one of their previous works and improve it\nPrepare a 2-minute design pitch and present it to the jury\n\nThe presentation part took place on 31st December before the award ceremony. \nEach finalist explained the following as part of their design pitch: \n\nTheir problem\nTheir idea\nDesign decisions\nWhy their design works for their audience\n\nPresentation by one of the finalists on the award Ceremony day\nThis round evaluated communication skills\, confidence\, and topic clarity that were beyond visuals.  \nWinners of Mega Design Competition 2025\nOur experts observed everything thoroughly during the contest and made their decision based on a few parameters. These were: \n\nConcept & originality\nProblem-solving\nVisual balancing and design efficiency\nCommunication\nTime management\n\nSo\, we now have the names of our winners.  \n\n1st Position: Preeti\, our student of the Graphic Master Course\n2nd Position: Deepak\, student of Post Production Master\n3rd Position: Dheeraj\, student of the UX UI design diploma \n\nWinners of the Mega Design Competition\nAll winners were awarded with shining trophies and certificates. There was a special cash prize of Rs. 2500/- for the 1st rank holder\, Preeti Bhandari.  \nEnding words on the Mega Design Competition 2025\nThe Mega Design Competition 2025 ended the year with success. It provided a platform to all of our students to showcase their skills and get industry exposure.  \nThis event was more than just a contest; it was an eye-opener design challenge to help students in facing their weaknesses\, handle pressure\, and work in collaboration. \nLet’s hope to come back with another Mega Design Competition next year.
